Young Artists in Winnipeg
From December to March 31, 2010 Young Artists in Winnipeg (YAW) built on the success of the Hip Hop Youth Project. Crossing Communities Art Project continued to train the youth, who took part in the Hip Hop Project, in multi-media production including video, photography, dance, sound and music. YAW also incorporated a high school English credit course.
YAW youth then trained other youth in short workshops along side artist mentors in community centres throughout Winnipeg. Crossing Communities Art Project will host some of the videos created by the youth on our website Looking In Speaking Out in order to showcase their films, photos and dance for an online audience. We hope to chat with you about topics that originated in their art.
