lookinginspeakingout.com launched with screenings of a selection of videos featured on lookinginspeakingout.com followed by a discussion sparked by the videos that touched on issues of addiction, poverty, racism, sexual exploitation and others.

Empty, Gimme My Fix and White to Red,  three videos produced for Looking In Speaking Out were presented at imagineNATIVE Film + Media Arts Festival in Toronto in mid-October. The videos were introduced by representatives from Crossing Communities Art Project along with an introduction to lookinginspeakingout.com

UNIFEM Winnipeg Chapter AGM, October 7, 2009
Crossing Communities presented videos and a preview of lookinginspeakingout.com at the Annual General Meeting of the Winnipeg Chapter of UNIFEM. Custody and Caring Conference, Saskatoon Saskatchewan September 30, 2009
Crossing Communities Art Project worked with conference attendees to create a short participatory video, Stigma, Barriers, Change (2 min) at the Pre-Conference Workshop. Crossing Communities member Tonya also spoke about her experiences and presented some of the video pieces she has produced in collaboration with Crossing Communities.

Screening and Discussion of work in Kathmandu Nepal, June 10, 2009
At the end of our stay in Nepal, Crossing Communities Art Project and Women Foundation Nepal organized a screening and discussion of the video work created in collaboration with Nepali women and youth. White to Red A Story of HIV and Why Self-Harm? A Discussion Among Nepali Youth were the videos screened. Documentation of the discussion that followed is available at lookinginpeakingout.com

Nepal International Indigenous Film Festival 2009 has been started in Kathmandu Nepal by gathering and showing different indigenous culture, cloths, foods and arts on Thursday 28th May, 2009. As the organiser of the festival, the venue and date will be at Kathmandu City Hall and Nepal Tourism Board, 28-31 May, 2009. The festival has been Organized by Indigenous Film Archive in association with National Foundation for Development of Indigenous Nationalities. It has been Promoted by Embassy of Denmark, Nepal Tourism Board and Nepal Film Development Board, and supported by Nepal Federation of Indigenous Nationalities, National Indigenous Women Federation, Nepal Indigenous Nationality Studentsą Federation, Indigenous Students Society and Kathmandu Metropolitan City.
